Editorial Research and Development.

Editorial.

I began to get my ideas from the texture and material used within hair for my editorial look. i absolutely love big hair styles and believe it would look amazing for this particular theme.

A few music videos which i used as a point of research which are amazing and detailed with what i wanted!

Here is a mood board with a few gathered images which i used to gather ideas and get a wide perception of creation within a tribal take on an editorial shoot.

Kelis - classic icon for her music videos and styling through out!! amazing!

Another very good music video with excellent styling throughout! The make up, displaying textures and configured skin complexion i love and have carried this on through my experimentation's with using fillers-earth and clays to see what i can come up with!

Images i put together to focus on the aspects that i am choosing to focus on with this photo shoot.
EYES + HAIR!!

first face chart. I have decided that i didnt like the colour red of choice to use as i feel its not capturing tribal for me personally i feel like this is more super hero. I need a colour more low - key maybe purple?

Because i am choosing to focus on the hair and eyes i still want to keep good quality and perfect the skin and keep a low key colour on the lip.

Got the shape and sculpture that im looking for just need to get the textures and work more on the over all look!! Adding a head piece or jewellery ?

FillersEarth. when i started to play around with this product i created a very interesting look and texture. Originally i was trying to create a scarred tissue look but then i came with an idea to create this with a build up of colour and layers on the face with makeup. Eyeshadow and my supra colour palette was perfect for this!

I then started to create textures and patterns with the dolls heads hair. Twists and plaits and rolls created a beautiful effect on the hair but i didn't want to relate this into my editorial look with a hair up style i want to use this on the top of the hair and pull it back and play around and have all different directions and detail consisting in the hair.

This was what i came up with ..

This will be the top of the head and then i will be adding a head piece which will drape on the top of the head down the forehead. and then biggg biggg hair!!

This was a significant image that made me want to develop my hair even more! tight at the top of the head an then big. bold and free at the bottom!

Face chart for final design for my editorial look.

Preparation for the look!

The night before i have done my models finger nails and painted them with a aztec pattern and design created by myself.
(Black & White)

Testing, Testing!!

Lips

Eyes.
- The texture build up. I have used my aqua / supra colour palettes to create this look and topped it off with a gold sparkle onto using my supra range. This relating back to my experimentation with fillers earth has worked more then what i would of wanted and i m very pleased with this and looking forwards to re-creating again for the final day.

My model has perfect long hair for what i am looking for to do this look on. i have decided to use a gold spray on the ends as a dip-dye effect. I want to do my take on tribal editorial but also keep it up to date with the current trends and fashion within hair too todays date! I have always used gold when i was testing before hand because it would represent a goddess or tribal queen which is perfect. I want this shoot to end up looking like a in control tribal queen.

Brushed through prepared hair that i curled and put in rollers the night before.
Beautiful!

Final look! Ready to capture those perfect shots!

My model will appear to be nude in the final shots as like my catwalk images. Organic and natural i must keep current with these looks and having a tribal 'Wild Kingdom' theme.
